What is a Councilperson?

City councilmembers aren’t just figureheads or meeting attendees—they’re decision-makers, budget overseers, and public advocates. Think of them like a board of directors for the city. Their job is to protect your tax dollars, uphold your rights, and ensure that every project, policy, and plan serves you, the people who live here.

  • Nope. My job is to review every law, policy, and proposal—carefully. That includes ordinances, zoning changes, budgets, and anything that affects how our city functions.

  • Absolutely. I’ll scrutinize the budget line by line and push for responsible spending. If something doesn’t add up or could be done better, I’ll speak up.

  • We guide and oversee key boards and commissions—like parks, public safety, utilities, and planning. It’s our job to make sure they serve the public fairly and efficiently.

  • Not a chance. Every contract or project should be evaluated based on cost, value, and impact. I’ll ask hard questions before giving a yes.
